My name is Maria Iznaga Medley and it has been my pleasure teaching first grade at Loma Linda Academy since the fall of 1992. My teaching career began in 1980 at Greater Miami Academy, followed by teaching multi-grades in Austin, Texas and Kauai, Hawaii. My prayer was to have a career that was fun, exciting and never boring –God answered!
At age 3 my family migrated from Cuba and settled in the United States. I was blessed by attending Adventist schools for most of my early schooling. Over 30 years ago I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from, Southern University of SDA (formerly Southern Missionary College). Later I received my Masters of Education from La Sierra University.
In 2007 I married my husband, James and I instantly became a ‘mom’ to a 35 year old, Sean. My husband and I enjoy traveling and eating Asian foods. A couple of our favorite outings were hearing BeBe King in concert and seeing the Alvin Ailey dance troupe. My personal hobbies include quilting, scrapbooking and shopping. God has surrounded me with Godly friends that surround me with prayers and love. I AM BLESSED.
